The Reaction Unit South Africa(RUSA) has reported that a 35-year-old man was fatally stabbed during an altercation at the Tongaat Taxi Rank in the Tongaat CBD in KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday afternoon.

The statement said witnesses informed of Reaction Unit South Africa(RUSA) that the victim and his female companion were consuming alcohol at a tavern when an argument erupted between the victim and a man known to him.

RUSA revealed that according to witnesses the argument led to the death of the victim began on the previous day which was Friday at the same tavern but he was murdered at the taxi rank.

"The dispute continued outside into the taxi rank, where the suspect drew a knife and stabbed the victim in the abdomen and on the shoulder. The victim was not robbed, and the suspect fled the area on foot.

Witnesses further stated that tension between the two men began the previous day in the same tavern, where the suspect reportedly threatened to kill the deceased. The motive for the stabbing remains unclear at this stage," said RUSA.

The security company mentioned that the victim's female companion was intoxicated and unable to provide detailed information regarding the suspect or the incident.

Unidentified man was gunned down in Oakford

In the separate incident, Reaction Unit South Africa(RUSA) reported that received a call from a passerby at approximately 04:04 (Sunday) reporting a male lying in the roadway in Oakford - KZN.

The security company said Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and, upon arrival, discovered the lifeless body of an unidentified man. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his back. Three 9mm spent cartridges were recovered near the body.

RUSA added that the motive for the murder is unknown at this stage.
