ADvTECH Group pays R172 million to purchase Regis Runda Academy in Kenya

ADvTECH Group,Africa's leading private education provider announced that has acquired Regis Runda Academy for KSh1,23 billion(approximately R172 million) to expand its Makini Schools offering in Nairobi,Kenya.

Regis Runda Academy is situated in the fast-developing Runda area,northeast of Nairobi,and that school has capacity of 2000 students and a full K-12 offering,will be rebranded as Makini Schools Runda.

ADvTECH will take over the operations of Regis Runda Academy on 20 August 2025,the school was established last year by the couple Peter Burugu and Mary Burugu.

According to the statement,ADvTech has committed to investing in AI-powered digital learning tools and significant enhancements to sporting facilities at the Regis site to elevate student experience and maximise academic outcomes.

The statement emphasised that these developments reinforce the group's commitment to providing superior private education across the African continent.

"We are delighted to increase our Makini Schools footprint in Kenya and to bring the brand's compelling proposition to parents and students in one of the fastest developing regions of Nairobi,"said Geoff Whyte,CEO of ADvTECH Group.

ADvTECH started the acquisition of private schools in Kenya back in 2018,when Dr Mary Okello sold her 71% stake in Makini Schools which she founded in 1978.

Two months ago,ADvTECH Group announced the launch of Rosebank International University College(RIUC) in Accra,Ghana and that institution will offers qualifications from doctoral programmes to diplomas,and other RIUC campuses exist in Kenya,Botswana and Ethiopia.

Last year in November,ADvTECH announced the acquisition of 100% interest in Flipper International School in Addis Ababa,Ethiopia,with the intention to reinforce its position as a leading provider of private education on the African continent.

ADvTECH Group owns schools such as Crawford International,Abbotts High School,Pinnacle Colleges,TrinityHouse,Junior Colleges just to name few,and also tertiary institutions such as Varsity College,Rosebank College,Capsium,Oxbridge Academy and many more.
