Nedbank Group has lured away Andiswa Bata from First National Bank(FNB) with an intention to reinforce and expand its Business and Commercial Banking(BCB) segment. 

"Nedbank Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Andiswa Bata(41) as Managing Executive of Nedbank Business and Commercial Banking(BCB),subject to regulatory approval.Andiswa's appointment follows the strategic reorganization of Retail and Business Banking and Nedbank Wealth and the resultant creation of the BCB cluster that will cover the spectrum of SME,Commercial and Mid-corp clients,"the statement said.

She is coming to Nedbank and armed with 18 years of banking experience, and worked for different banks such as Absa and Standard Bank before she joined FNB.

"Andiswa is a seasoned banker with 18 years of banking experience across business and investment banking. Her career reflects a deep commitment to driving both performance and purpose,with a particular focus on advancing financial inclusion and supporting the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises(SMEs).

She began her career in investment banking,holding various roles at Absa Capital and Standard Bank CIB,spanning across debt structuring,syndication & distribution,and global markets.Since joining FNB in 2018,Andiswa has held several strategic leadership roles,culminating in the position of the CEO of FNB Business segment,"the statement added.

Andiswa was born and bred in a township called Zwelitsha which is situated outside King William's Town in the Eastern Cape province.

She attended her tertiary education at University of Cape Town and graduated with Honours degree in Business Science and is also an Archbishop Desmond Tutu Leadership Fellow.
