Bafana Bafana tops Group C for FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers

Bafana Bafana is leading in Group C for FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers with three points after beating Benin by 2-1 at Moses Mabhida Stadium,Durban on Saturday afternoon.

Group C is comprised six national teams which includes the likes of South Africa,Lesotho,Nigeria,Rwanda,Zimbabwe and Benin.

Other national teams in the group have one points after playing draws except Benin which was defeated in an away match in South Africa.

South Africa's first goal scored by Percy Tau after two minutes the match started and the second goal was scored by Khuliso Mudau before the end of first half in an added time.

Yesterday's goal for Tau was his fourteen for Bafana Bafana and Mudau's goal was his first in the colours of the national team.

The visitors scored they consoling goal in the seventh minutes which was scored by Steve Mounie.

Bafana Bafana has played twelve games unbeaten excluding Cosafa under the guidance of the Belgian coach Hugo Broos,it won seven and drew five games.

Broos guided Bafana Bafana against these national teams Sierra Leone,Botswana,Mozambique,Angola,Liberia,Morocco,Namibia,DR Congo,eSwatini,Ivory Coast and Benin.

Not only Group C's teams were playing on Saturday for CAF FIFA World Cup Qualifiers,these are results Senegal 4-0 South Sudan,Niger 0-1 Tanzania.

These are results for national teams played on Friday,Mali 3-1 Chad,Burkina Faso 1-1 Guinea-Bissau,Tunisia 4-0 Sao Tome,Ivory Coast 9-0 Seychelles and Cameroon 3-0 Mauritius.

Other results for games played on Friday are as follows: eSwatini 0-1 Libya,Comoros 4-2 Central African Republic,Guinea 2-1 Uganda,Liberia 0-1 Malawi,Zambia 4-2 Congo and Ghana 1-0 Madagascar.
