Dr Mathews Phosa will succeed Ollie Oliveira as chairperson of Jubilee Metals

Jubilee Metals Group PLC has announced on Monday morning that its current chairperson Ollie Oliveira will retire in his position at the end of this month and will be succeeded by his vice Dr Mathews Phosa.

Jubilee Metals is a diversified metals processor in Africa,with copper operations in Zambia and chrome and PGM operations in South Africa.

According to company's statement,Mr Oliveira has notified the Company of his intention to retire from his position as chairperson and non-executive director with effect from 30 April 2025.

The company said:"Mr Oliveria will be succeeded by Dr Mathews Phosa,currently vice-chairperson of the Board.Dr Phosa will also assume Mr Oliveira's role as member of both the Audit and Risk Committee as well as the Renumeration Committee of the Board with immediate effect."

The outgoing chairperson of the Jubilee has thanked everyone who supported him during difficult time as the chairperson of that organisation.

"I would like to record my heartfelt thanks to the management and staff for their strong and constant dedication to the Company in what has proven to be very challenging circumstances in the industry and the region.

To my fellow board members,I extend my gratitude for their commitment,collaboration,and invaluable insights.Your support and dedication have been instrumental in guiding the Company through times of both opportunity and challenge,"said Ollie Oliveira,an outgoing Chairperson of Jubilee.

The company's Chief Executive Officer took the opportunity to thank Oliveira for his outstanding leadership and support during his tenure as chairperson,and also welcomed Dr Phosa as the new chairperson.

The incoming chairperson for Jubilee has shown some respect to an outgoing chairperson and commended his contribution into the company's growth,and also promised that he will honour his new responsibilities as the chairperson.

Jubilee also announced that its interim Finance Director,Jonathan Morley-Kirk,has been appointed in a permanent position with an immediate effect.

Dr Phosa is former African National Congress(ANC) Treasurer-General and was the first Premier of Mpumalanga in the dawn of South African democracy after 1994 general elections.
