The Israeli government has agreed to reach a ceasefire with Lebanon's Hezbollah after more than twelve months of exchange of fire which began last year on October.

The ceasefire agreement between two parties was facilitated by United States of America and France, and that agreement excludes Gaza ceasefire.

The war between Israel and Hezbollah has displaced millions of people and killed thousands of civilians across two borders.

The ceasefire was welcomed with both hands by the allies of Israel including countries such as United Kingdom and Canada.

The Prime Minister of Canada has welcomed the ceasefire and thanked both countries that brokered the deal between Israel and Lebanon, and he is convinced that agreement would improve the situation in that region.

"Canada welcomes the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, effective 4:00 a.m local time. This is a much-needed step toward stability and security in the region. We thank the United States of America and France for their efforts in achieving this agreement.

The cessation of hostilities will help create the conditions to further de-escalate tensions, stabilize the Israel-Lebanon border, fully restore the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and stability of Lebanon, secure Israel from the threat of Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations operating from Lebanon, and return displaced citizens to their homes with safety and security on both sides of the Blue Line.We encourage all parties to fully implement the agreement,"said Prime Minister of Canada,Justin Trudeau.

The UK's Foreign Secretary has also welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah and is hoping that the agreement will bring lasting peace.

"For more than a year, over a million Lebanese and Israeli civilians have been displaced from their homes, with many living under relentless rocket attacks. The announcement of a ceasefire agreement to end hostilities between Israel and Lebanese Hezbollah offers hope.

The UK was the first G7 country to call for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Lebanese Hezbollah in September and we have worked relentlessly since our allies and partners to apply pressure to end this conflict since. We strongly urge all parties to use this agreement to open a pathway to a lasting peace,"said UK Foreign Secretary,David Lammy.

Lammy emphasized that UK government will continue to support UN peacekeepers and provide humanitarian aid in Lebanon.

"A long-term political settlement, consistent with UN Security Council resolution 1701,is the only way to restore security and stability for the Lebanese and Israeli people. The UK will continue to support UNIFIL's essential role in maintaining peace along the Blue Line and the Lebanese Armed Forces,as the only legitimate military force in Lebanon.

The devastation from this conflict is appalling and the human suffering must be addressed. The UK has played a leading role in addressing the humanitarian situation in Lebanon, announcing £15m in humanitarian support in autumn to provide essential medical supplies, emergency cash assistance, shelter and access to clean water. We will continue to play our part to support those in need,"continues David Lammy.

Lammy also talked about an ongoing war in Gaza which has been fighting more than 400 days and thousands of civilian population killed by Israeli army.

He concluded that we must seize this moment. It must be a turning point that builds momentum towards a lasting peace across the Middle East.In Gaza,we need an immediate ceasefire, the release of all the hostages and an end to Israeli restrictions on aid.The intolerable must end.
