The police of Amersfoort in Mpumalanga Province arrested two foreign nationals, aged 43 and 45,and recovered a stolen Toyota Fortuner 2.4 GD-6 that was reported stolen in Pinetown last month.

The police revealed that they managed to apprehend the suspects because of the assistance of farmers which operates in the area of Amersfoort.

"This success comes after police in Amersfoort received information from the Rural Safety Partnership of farmers' community. Members wasted no time and swiftly operationalised the information received.

After the suspects realized they had been intercepted, they abandoned the vehicle, and fled on foot. However the resilient men and women in blue gave chase along with the farmers, and the two suspects were successfully apprehended. They were charged with possession of suspected stolen property as well as for contravention of the Immigration Act of South Africa," said South African Police Service(SAPS) in Mpumalanga.

The duo is expected to make their first appearance at the Amersfoort Magistrate's Court on Friday, 05 December 2025.
