South African Maskandi artist Mthandeni SK (born Mthandeni Sibusiso Manqele, also known as Igcokama Elisha) released his latest studio album, Easy Target, on 28 August 2026 via Mthandeni Music Production. The 11 tracks project runs approximately 51 minutes and is now available on major streaming platforms, including Spotify.
Path to the new album
The release follows a string of high-profile singles and a shorter project. In 2023, “Paris” (featuring Lwah Ndlunkulu) became a multi-platinum hit and won Record of the Year at the South African Music Awards – the first time a Maskandi track claimed the category. He followed it in 2024 with “Gucci” (featuring Mawhoo), which topped charts, accumulated millions of streams, and made history as the first Maskandi song to reach one million YouTube views within 24 hours. “Dubai” (again with Mawhoo) sustained that momentum in 2025, alongside the four-track Front Seat EP.
Label issues reportedly delayed a full album in 2025, with the artist stating that major companies sought to sign him while he preferred to remain independent. Easy Target ends that wait and reinforces his standing as a leading figure in contemporary Maskandi, particularly the Woolies sub-genre he helped popularise through cross-genre collaborations.
What's on the album
Known tracks include “Umalume Uyanyomfa,” “Ichune,” “Amalunda,” “Imikhonto,” “Dubula Mawudubula,” “Umshini Wokuthunga,” “Inkabi,” and “uMthandeni”.
