The South African Police Service(SAPS) has launched a manhunt for suspect who is wanted for killing his ex-girlfriend in Giyani, Limpopo Province on Saturday,08 April 2023.
The 34-year-old suspect stoned his 23-year-old ex-girlfriend, who is also a baby mom for his child in the early hours of Saturday around 03:00 at Dzingidzingi village, Giyani.
According to statement released by SAPS, it is alleged, that the victim was with her friend coming from the local tavern going home, when they met her ex-boyfriend. It is alleged that the two had a confrontation before the suspect assault the victim with a stone. Her friend screamed for help and ran to households nearby, when she return the victim was critically injured and unconscious. The suspect was nowhere to be found.
The police added that the victim was rushed to hospital where she later succumbed to the injuries. She was identified as Nokuthula Sithole, aged 23,residing at Dzingidzingi village in Giyani,Mopani District.
When police found about the passing of the victim the case of murder was opened and manhunt was immediately activated.
The police in Giyani are urging the suspect Ceaseman Dala Chauke,aged 34 to avail himself at his nearest police station to assist police with further investigation.
Police asked anyone with the information about the whereabouts of the suspect to contact the Investigating Officer Warrant Officer Hobyani on 082 414 6709 or informed the nearest police station, and the investigations are still continuing.
