Two foreign nationals aged 36 and 40 were arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning after found in possession of 31 livestock suspected to be stolen at Bulwer,KwaZulu-Natal.
According to South African Police Service(SAPS) statement,the Bulwer SAPS Tracing Team intercepted a vehicle driving towards Pietermaritzburg and upon searching the vehicle,police officers found twenty(20) goats and eleven(11) sheep.The occupants of the vehicle produced documentation purporting to authorize the transportation of livestock.A quick verification of the documents revealed that the information therein was falsified.The person listed as the seller denied any knowledge or involvement in the alleged sale.
The two suspects were immediately placed under arrest and will appear before the Hlanganani Magistrates Court on Monday,27 October 2025,the police statement concludes.
Two suspects arrested for murder and possession of stolen property at Hibberdene
On Thursday,the police in Hibberdene in the province of KwaZulu-Natal arrested two suspects aged 24 and 36,for murder and possession of property suspected to be stolen.
The police statement mentioned that the arrest occurred after after a lifeless body of Mrs Khanyisile Ngwane(64) was found in a pool of blood inside her house at Nhlabamkhosi area in Mthwalume,on 14 October 2025.Police were summoned to the crime scene,and initial investigations revealed that the victim's residence was also robbed of valuable items.A case of murder and house robbery were registered at Hibberdene police station.
The statement added that investigations were conducted,and on Thursday,23 October 2025,a 24-year-old suspect was arrested at Nyangwini area in possession of items which were suspected to have been taken from the late Mrs Ngwane's home.On the same day police arrested a 36-year-old man also for the murder of Mrs Ngwane.
Both suspects were charged for murder and possession of property suspected to be stolen.They will appear at the Mzumbe Magistrate's Court on Monday,27 October 2025,the statement concludes.
