Police announced the arrest of a woman which is accused of killing her own husband after stabbing him with a sharp object.
According to SAPS, the police at Naboomspruit in Waterberg District have arrested a 20-year-old woman in connection with the brutal murder of her alleged 25-year-old husband. The incident took place on a farm outside Mookgophong on Monday,10 April 2023 at about 05:00 in the morning.
Police added that it is alleged that in the morning in question, the couple had a heated argument. According to the information the suspect(wife) accused her husband(deceases) of having an affair. She allegedly stabbed her husband with a sharp object on the upper body. The victim was taken to hospital where he was certified dead on arrival. The suspect was arrested.
Police statement said that the Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has condemned the incident.
"People experiencing relationship challenges are urged to seek professional assistance ",concluded Lieutenant General Hadebe.
The suspect is expected to appear before Mookgophong Magistrate Court soon on a charge of murder.
In another incident, police arrested a young for killing his own brother and another suspect got arrested for trying to kill his girlfriend, both incidents occurred in Mpumalanga Province.
According to SAPS, a 33-year-old man is expected to appear in court in connection with the murder of his brother whilst a 28-year-old man is appearing for attempted murder of his female partner. Both are expected to appear at the Bushbuckridge Magistrates' Court today, Tuesday 11 April 2023.
Police added that according to the report, on Saturday,08 April 2023 information was shared with the authorities in Bushbuckridge indicating that there were two brothers who were engaged in a fight at Ga-Motibidi where one of them was stabbed. The police and paramedics went to the scene and upon arrival they found a lifeless body of a man with stab wounds on the chest and at the back. The victim was unfortunately certified dead by the medical personnel.
Police maintained that the preliminary investigation indicates that the brothers had a fight where one of the brothers allegedly stabbed the other with a knife. The victim then succumbed to his injuries and the suspect fled the scene. After a murder case was opened the suspect was arrested in Bushbuckridge on Sunday,09 April 2023 hence his court appearance today.
Police revealed that meanwhile the police in Bushbuckridge received a report regarding a woman who had sustained gunshot wounds on the stomach and right hand and admitted to hospital. An attempted murder case was opened and during the investigation police discovered that the suspect was residing in Violetbank near Bushbuckridge. The police followed details regarding the whereabouts of the suspect and cornered him at his residential place. Preliminary investigation suggests that the suspect(28) and the victim is a couple. On that fateful Sunday, it is alleged that the two had an argument and the suspect allegedly shot the victim.
