Ayanda Allie has confirmed her expulsion from Build One South Africa (BOSA). Over the past two years, Allie served the people of Gauteng as a Member of the Provincial Legislature, having been deployed by BOSA. She approached her role with commitment, integrity, and a great sense of responsibility, expressing confidence that her work reflected those values.
Disagreements over the Code of Conduct and party levies
Tensions with party leadership arose when Allie declined to sign an initial Code of Conduct. This code required her to donate an entire month's salary to the party annually, in addition to an extra 10% of her gross salary monthly. Following discussions, the policy was revised to remove the annual full-month contribution and adjust the monthly amount to 10% of her net salary, which she then accepted and signed.
Further complications emerged when Allie was informed that legislative funds designated for travel and constituency work would not be made available to her to fulfill her constitutional obligations. Consequently, she withheld the party levy from BOSA and redirected those resources toward supporting the legislative and party political community initiatives for which she took an oath.
During subsequent mediation, Allie was advised that she could begin requesting funding for constituency activities going forward, prompting her to agree to commence paying the party levy again.

Although both sides agreed to calculate and offset the amounts without setting a deadline, ongoing misunderstandings regarding mayoral candidacies ultimately triggered a disciplinary hearing.
At the hearing, which an independent chairperson oversaw, Allie admitted to withholding the party levy and provided her reasons. The chairperson ruled that her actions did not warrant dismissal, but the BOSA Board of Directors ultimately disagreed with the finding.
