Yesterday,Democratic Alliance(DA) and Inkatha Freedom Party(IFP) has announced that these two political parties has reached an agreement to work together in KwaZulu-Natal speed up service delivery in the province.
The signing of a service delivery pact agreement in Durban was attended by DA KZN Provincial Leader-Francois Rodgers and IFP National Chairperson-Thami Ntuli.
According to both parties, the agreement will seek to bring stability to several hung municipalities in KZN where both parties hold seats.
This new marriage is expected to pave the way for new government for KZN in 2024 because these parties want to unseat African National Congress(ANC) government in the province after next year general elections.
Recently,IFP has been complaining about an unnecessary interference of a ruling party ANC in the province to disturb service delivery by poking its nose on the administration of municipatilies which are under the leadership of Inkatha Freedom Party.
So this new service delivery agreement reached by both parties might help in the long-term to unseat the corrupt ANC government and fast-track services to the communities.
It looks like the DA's pact is starting to gain its momentum before the meeting of leaders of seven political parties meet on the 16-17 August 2023 to discuss their efforts for 2024.
The meeting will be attended by leaders of these opposition parties as follows: Democratic Alliance,Inkatha Freedom Party,Freedom Front Plus,ActionSA,National Freedom Party,United Independent Movement and Spectrum National Party.
The main goal of Moonshoot Pact is to remove ANC in power and fade EFF hopes to be in government in the future because it is clear that these parties shares common policies which promote instability in the country.
