Former Eskom CEO exposed ANC kleptocracy

Former Eskom CEO,Andre De Ruyter has opened a can of worms when he exposed ANC kleptocracy which is contributing factor to the collapse of the power utility.

During his interview with one of the news media house,he complained about political interference and systematic corruption at Eskom.

He also hintend that there is an ANC minister told him that in order to pursue the greater good,he must allow some people to eat a little bit.

After that explosive interview,he was forced by the board of Eskom to relinquish his duties not later than the 28 February 2023 which shocked all South Africans because he was working on notice which expire end of month.

The power utility announced last night on Wednesday about the suspicious resignation of its CEO even though it has no permanent replacement for him.

Millions of South Africans applauded the bravery of Andre De Ruyter to speak out about this matter which has plunge citizens of this country on non-stop loadshedding which cripple the economy and forced businesses to shut down.

According to other news reports,De Ruyter has announced that he is going to leave South Africa for his safety and few months ago he survived an assassination attempt whereby he was poisoned with cyanide.

De Ruyter was appointed by Eskom as Chief Executive Officer(CEO) in December 2019 and he took the reigns from Jabu Mabuza who was an Acting CEO.

His appointment was not approved and applauded by the majority of South African because people complained that he had no experience in the energy industry,others were preferring a black CEO.

His resignation from Eskom and his confessions has created him too many enemies which are not happy about his outburst which shook the entire country and even the ruling party is furious.

Before his tenure at Eskom as CEO,he was previously by South African chemical and energy company Sasol and he also worked for a packaging company Nampak.

He was born in 1968 as Andre Marinus de Ruyter in Pretoria,South Africa and he attended his tertiary education at University of Pretoria where he obtained BA degree,and studied at University of South Africa for BCL and LLB,then he obtained MBA at Nyeronde Business University.
