Award-winning South African gospel singer, songwriter and lawyer Ayanda Ntanzi has married Gcina Zungu in a private ceremony. News of the union, describing the bride as a “Mtubatuba beauty,” began circulating widely on social media on 22 August 2026.

Ntanzi, known for powerful hits such as “Nasempini,” “Basuka/Ulungile” and “Jesu Bomi,” has long kept his personal life largely out of the public eye. Reports confirm the wedding was intimate, consistent with the artist's preference for discretion around family matters. Fans and media accounts, including MDN News, shared congratulations and limited photographs, while details of the exact date, venue and guest list remain scarce.

Earlier chapters in his personal life

In August 2022, Ntanzi held an umembeso (a traditional Zulu gift-giving ceremony) with a woman identified as Saneh. Fellow gospel artist Ntokozo Mbambo publicly congratulated the couple at the time. Ntanzi confirmed the ceremony to the press but declined to reveal further details about his bride, saying he wished to protect her privacy. Biographical profiles have since listed him as married to Saneh.

Before that relationship, Ntanzi was engaged to Durban Gen actress Nelisiwe Faith Sibiya during their university years. The engagement ended around 2019; Sibiya later attributed the split largely to differing belief systems – his committed Christian faith and her cultural practices.

A career built on faith and excellence

Born on 31 January 1992 in Ozwathini, near Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal, Ntanzi rose to prominence after being mentored by Nqubeko Mbatha and signing with Koko Records. He has released acclaimed albums including Udumo (2015), Priestly Worship (2017) and According to Grace (2020), and later founded his own label, Royal Priest Productions. In addition to his music ministry he holds an LLB degree and has practised as a lawyer.

True to form, Ntanzi has offered no public statement on the latest wedding. Well-wishers across the gospel community and social media have nonetheless poured in messages of congratulations, celebrating the couple's new chapter while respecting the privacy the artist has always guarded.
