Israeli forces has killed more than 4000 Palestinian children through its persistent bombardments of unarmed civilians in the Gaza Strip.
The total number of Palestinian civilians killed by ruthless Israeli forces is alarming and is increasing exponentially.
According to letter by Permanent Observer Mission of the State of Palestine to the United Nations Dr. Riyad Mansour,in the week since my last letter,at least another 2000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel,the occupying Power,in indiscriminate attacks targeting civilian areas all over the Gaza Strip.The death toll has surpassed 11,000 Palestinian men,women and children killed,and 26,905 people injured as of this writing.
Mansour said each day a ceasefire is delayed,hundreds of Palestinian lives are lost to Israel's vengeful barbarity against the defenseless civilians under its inhumane occupation,blockade and siege.Every hour 15 Palestinians are killed,6 of them children,staggering toll on human life each hour and day this criminal aggression continues.
The painful thing is that the majority of people which killed by Israel occupation forces are women,children and helpless elderly people.
"Children and women are nearly 70% of the casualties.More than 4,412 children have been killed and 8,663 wounded.More than 2918 women have been killed and 6,327 wounded.Also,667 elderly have been murdered,as Israel continues systematically striking at homes,refugee camps,schools,hospitals,mosques,churches,and UNRWA facilities,where 66 people have been killed in Israeli attacks,"Mansour said.
The Israeli forces are not only targeting normal civilians but also targets health workers,media practitioners and even UN staff.
Mansour added the toll on humanitarian workers has also been appalling.As of today,101 UNRWA staff members have been killed by Israel's war on Gaza,the highest toll of UN casualties in a single conflict in such a short of span of time.In addition,at least 150 health workers have been killed,16 of them while on duty and 18 emergency-service workers have been killed.31 journalists have also been killed by Israeli attacks,the highest number of number journalists killed over a four-week period than in any conflict in at least three decades.
Thousands of Palestinians still missing under rubble and millions are displaced because of Israeli bombardments.
"Each hour,an estimated 12 buildings in Gaza are destroyed,breaking homes and bodies,and burying more civilians under rubble,most left to die horrific deaths as the magnitude of destruction has overwhelmed rescuers with meager tools and capacities to save lives 2,650 people are missing under the rubble,over 1,400 children.The widespread destruction wantonly caused by Israel also continues to cause more displacement of civilians.
"The number of persons displaced exceeds 1.6 million people as a direct result of Israel's bombardments that have destroyed now 40,000 homes,over 50% of residential units - and its military orders threatening civilians to evacuate the north.Scenes of a sea of thousands of civilians fleeing,carrying babies and whatever life's belongings they can carry on foot,wheeling disable and elderly,children holding up white cloths,as they try to escape Israel's attacks,have been shocking,recalling the traumatic scenes of Nakba,again,75 years later,"Mansour continues.
The suffering of Palestinian is expected to continue for months as the U.S government recently approved more than $US300 million for Israel forces to continue with a collective punishment in the Gaza Strip and West Bank.
Meanwhile,Europe Union members are rallying behind Israel to continue with its collective punishment against Palestinians which has no affiliation to any resistance groups which have been standing against the occupation of the Palestine land by Israeli illegal settlements.
