Limpopo musician Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke known as Shebeshxt is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrates Court today for two counts of attempted murder.
The police confirmed that arrested a 30-year-old popular musician during an intelligence-driven operation conducted in the upmarket suburb of Bendor,outside Polokwane,on Wednesday morning,12 November 2025, at about 09:30.
The police mentioned that he was arrested because he is linked with two cases of attempted murder which happened last month in one of the streets outside Polokwane.
"The arrest was executed through a joint operation between the Provincial Investigation Unit and the Provincial Tracking Team following the issuance of a warrant of arrest linked to a case of two counts of attempted murder registered at Westernburg SAPS.
The arrest stems from an incident that occurred in the early hours of Sunday,19 October 2025, along Witklip Street in Ladanna, outside Polokwane. It is alleged that the suspect had a confrontation with another motorist, during which he fired several shots at another vehicle, injured a 34-year-old male occupant, who was rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries," Colonel Malesela Ledwaba.
Colonel Ledwaba revealed that the case was transferred from a local police station to a provincial team and that helped to secure a warrant of arrest for Shebeshxt, and during his arrest took his vehicles.
"The case was initially opened at Westernburg SAPS and later transferred to the Provincial Investigation Unit for further investigation. Detectives successfully obtained a warrant of arrest on Tuesday, 11 November 2025, leading to the suspect's apprehension.
During the operation, police also seized the suspect's vehicles for forensic analysis as part of ongoing investigations," added Colonel Ledwaba.
He stated that the Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, commended the investigation and operational teams for their meticulous work and swift action.
“We are taking this matter very seriously,and a dedicated team was appointed to ensure that no stone is left unturned. The South African Police Service reiterates that no one is above the law, regardless of their social standing,” said Lieutenant General Hadebe.
