Mamelodi Sundowns crushed Mpheni Home Defenders 2-0 to qualify for the next round of the Nedbank Cup in a match was held at Lucas Moripe Stadium,Pretoria on Sunday afternoon.

The Premier Soccer League champions paved their way to the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals in the early stages of first-half by scoring two quick goals.

The first goal for Masandawana was scored on the 8th minute by Tashreeq Matthews with a stunning back-heeled kick which left the Defenders' goalkeeper clueless and lost.

The second goal for Bafana Ba Style came on the 27th minute with a beautiful volley which was put at the back of the net by Bathusi Aubaas.

Masandawana went to the dressing room leading with two goals to nil at the end of first 45 minutes and that was positive outcome for the home team.

At the beginning of the second half,Sundowns player Tashreeq Matthews was given a red card after a dangerous tackle against Mpheni Home Defenders player.

During the second half,Sundowns failed dismally to score another goal to increase the score to three goals and their opponent shown signs of improvements after the half-time.

The match between these two teams ended 2-0 and that was enough for the host to secure their spot in the Nedbank Cup Last 8.

The Brazilians midfielder Bathusi Aubaas was chosen as the Man of the Match followed his sterling performance through the whole 90 minutes and he scored a crucial goal.

After that victory,Sundowns was luck to join clubs such as SuperSport United,Stellenbosch FC,Durban City,Marumo Gallants,Orlando Pirates,Kaizer Chiefs and Sekhukhune United which are already qualified for the quarterfinals.

The Nedbank Cup quarterfinals draw will take place tomorrow evening at 18h00,it is unclear what will happen about the Royal AM and Milford FC match which was played because Thwihlithwahla has been failing to honor its fixtures this year.

On Saturday,three games played and eight goals scored in total in that day,Orlando Pirates grilled Baroka FC 3-1 at Orlando Stadium,Kaizer Chiefs thrashed Chippa United 3-0 and Marumo Gallants won 1-0 against AmaZulu FC.
