Orlando Pirates has qualified for CAF Champions League quarterfinals after beating Algerian club CR Belouizdad 2-1 at Orlando Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Buccaneers has moved on top of Group C with 11 points and followed in second position by Egyptian giant Al Ahly with 10 points in five games played so far.
The host's goals were scored in both halves,the first goal was scored by the youngster Relebohile Mofokeng in the first 20 minutes of the game follows a poor goalkeeping by CR Belouizdad goalkeeper.
The second goal for Pirates came from Talent Mbatha after producing a thunderous strike outside 18 yard and that kick was very quick and far for the goalkeeper to reach.
The consoling goal for the visitors was scored by Benguit in an added time on the 90+2 minute and it was too late to caught the home team.
Today's defeat for CR Belouizdad has buried their hopes for qualifying for the quarterfinals because even if they can win their last match against Ivorian side Stade d'Abidjan will never make it to the next level.
The Algerians are sitting on third position in Group C with 6 points in five games,and has won two games and lost three as well.
Next weekend,Pirates will play its last game for group stages against position one contender Red Devils away from home and that match is expected to be tough for the Bucs because Egyptian clubs are very intimidating in their backyards.
Bucs has won three games,drew two games and lost none so far,and are hoping to finish group stages without a lose and draw will enough for them against Al Ahly because will remain on top of Group C.
