South African winger Shandre Campbell has taken the next major step in his European career, completing a permanent transfer from Club Brugge to fellow Belgian Pro League side KV Kortrijk. The 21-year-old rising star has penned a four-year contract that ties him to the Guldensporenstadion until 2030, setting the stage for regular top-flight minutes.
From Boksburg to the DStv Premiership
Born in Boksburg, South Africa, Campbell's football education was deeply rooted in the SuperSport United youth system, which he joined at the age of 11. Under the guidance of head coach Gavin Hunt, Campbell was fast-tracked to the senior professional setup during the 2023-24 season.
He made an immediate impact on his South African Premier Division debut, notching assists right out of the gate. His breakthrough campaign saw him net crucial goals – including a standout performance against Orlando Pirates – while gaining invaluable experience in domestic cups and continental competitions.
