Jacinta Zinhle Ngobese,a Durban-based radio presenter and founder of March and March movement announced that her employer VUMA FM has terminated her employment contract without giving her any reasons.
She joined that commercial radio station which broadcasts mainly in Zulu and English in 2019 for the 12h00 to 15h00 show and over the years she ended up presenting a 09h00 to 12h00 show "the Cruise".
In her statement,she pointed out what she achieved as a presenter with that radio station where she mentioned awards and helping people and many more.
"We won many awards,nominated for the Radio Awards and created a platform for topical issues,helped many of our people,what touched my heart the most was our Provincial wedding.During this period,I appreciated the power of our people when they work in unison for the good of mankind,"said Jacinta.
She revealed that few days ago she received a letter from her employer which informed her that her employment contract with the station was terminated.
"I served the station with dedication,commitment and tenacity,rejected many offers primarily because VUMA FM was my second home.On Tuesday,15th July 2025,I received a letter from my Employer,terminating my employment contract without any reasons given to me.It has come to my attention that a complaint was brought by an external entity and or individual,I shall not deal with the details of that complaint at this stage,"she added.
Despite being fired by the radio station but she thanked them for the opportunity they gave her since she joined that station few years ago,and also thanked listeners for the love they showed her.
"I am indelibly appreciative of the opportunity afforded to me by the Management of VUMA FM over the past 5 years.To the listeners,you were not only my clients,but we became friends and family,I will keep you and the memories we shared in my heart forever,my last day at work is the 31st of July 2025,until then let's continue making great Radio,"she continued.
She did not forget to thank her another family which she gained on social media and that family played a pivotal role on her growth as an individual,and she also urged her comrades in her movement that they must not backed down no matter what comes in their way.
"To the social media family,your love and kindness has propelled me to the heights I had never imagined before,thank you so much,you hold a special place in my heart.To my family thank you for the continued love support and support.
To the March and March movement,let us not be deterred,whatever brutality we are subjected to,the truth will set us free,even in the midst of adversity we still demand the recognition of the rights of the South African Citizens,"she concluded.
Except radio station,Jacinta is very popular especially in almost social media platforms available in the country and other people love her because of her column in a Zulu language weekend newspaper Isolezwe LangeSonto.
She was born and raised in KwaMashu,Durban.She has degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of KwaZulu-Natal,and she is involved in community activities.
Last year,she got married to her beloved husband Xolani Zuma and that their wedding was attended celebrities and politicians such as former KZN premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube and former president Jacob Zuma's wife,Thobeka Madiba Zuma.
