ActionSA terminates membership of Kholofelo Morodi following disciplinary inquiry
ActionSA has officially terminated the membership of Kholofelo Morodi, effective immediately. The decision, announced on 28 March 2026, follows a formal disciplinary process conducted by the party's Gauteng Provincial Executive Committee (PEC).
The expulsion stems from allegations linked to testimony presented before the Madlanga Commission. According to a statement released by Funzi Ngobeni, ActionSA's Gauteng Provincial Chairperson, the PEC determined that Morodi's conduct was “inconsistent with the values, constitution, and code of conduct” of the organisation.
A thorough and fair process
ActionSA emphasised that the termination was not a snap judgement but the result of a rigorous internal investigation. The party highlighted several procedural steps taken to ensure fairness, including a formal notification where Morodi was briefed on all specific allegations.
Furthermore, the party granted an initial opportunity for response, followed by a requested extension. A final 72-hour window was ultimately provided for Morodi to make representations before the PEC reached its final verdict.
Upholding party integrity
The core of the dismissal rests on provisions within ActionSA's Interim Constitution regarding conduct that “brings the Party into disrepute.” The leadership stated that the move underscores their commitment to high ethical standards, particularly concerning public office and the preservation of public trust.
“ActionSA takes matters of integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct with the utmost seriousness,” the statement read. “The Party will not hesitate to act where the conduct its members undermines the integrity of the Party or the public institutions it seeks to strengthen.”
Looking ahead
By taking decisive action against its own members, ActionSA aims to reinforce its platform of clean governance and institutional accountability. The party reiterated its commitment to building a South African political landscape defined by leadership worthy of the public's trust.
