A 23-year-old model Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina has been invited to enter Miss Universe Nigeria competition after she withdrew in Miss South Africa 2024 pageant due to fraud and identity theft committed by her mother to get her a South African citizenship.
When she withdrew in that competition, she was one of the 11 finalists and she was absolved by Department of Home Affairs from her mother illegal activities took place in 2001 when she was an infant.
In her withdrawal statement, she cited safety and wellbeing of her family and herself as the main reason that forced to quit the competition.
On Friday the organisers of the Miss Universe Nigeria has sent her an invitation to join their competition which is in late stages now,at the moment is not clear if she will just compete without being auditioned or what.
In that invitation letter, the organisers of that Nigerian pageant are trying by all means to lure Chidimma to agree to their invitation so that she will represent a country of her own father.
"We at Miss Universe Nigeria have been closely following the developments regarding your decision to bow out of the Miss South Africa beauty pageant. We acknowledge the circumstances surrounding your withdrawal and understand the challenges you may be facing.

That pity invitation has caused a friction amongst Nigerians on social media platforms because most of Nigerian people are not happy with the backdoor invitation especially for someone who does not live in Nigeria.
On social media,Nigerians have asked if Chidimma does possess a Nigerian citizenship or she will just enter the competition because she only shares a Nigerian blood in her body.
Chidimma Adetshina is the daughter of Annabella Rungo a Mozambican woman lives in South Africa and her father is a Nigerian guy,and according to unconfirmed rumours her parents are not longer dating.
