Lamontville Golden Arrows has taught Kaizer Chiefs an unforgettably lesson earlier today after wasting so many chances during Betway Premiership encounter at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
Abafana Besithende defeated Amakhosi 2-1 in the match was played in front of their supporters,the goals for the host scored by Sibiya and Mutizwa,and consolation goal for visitors scored by Maart.
Chiefs started the first-half in a full force and on the 10th minute they were awarded a penalty after Lukhele clipped Lilepo in the box,unfortunately their captain Yusuf Maart missed the opportunity to give his side the lead on 11th minute when his kick hits the upright.
Both teams continued with their attacks after the visitors the missed the golden opportunity to claim the lead in the initial stages of the match.
The first goal in that match came on the 25th minute which was scored by Arrows' player Sibiya after getting beautiful pass from the Zimbabwean export Mutizwa while he was on the near posts.
The home team's lead did not last longer because the visitors found an equaliser on the 29th minute with the foot of Maart and that strike levelled score 1-1.
Chiefs tried all tricks to find a second goal before the end of first-half but their efforts were not strong enough to crack a solid defence of Lamontville Golden Arrows.
On the 41st minute,Abafana Besithende were forced to substitute Lukhele with Maxwele after struggling to continue with the game as he was injured on the 35th minute.
The first 45 minutes ended with a 1-1 draw after the match official added two minutes of injury time and during that time Chiefs tried to stole the show but failed.
At the beginning of the second-half,Arrows head coach Manqoba Mnqithi made double substitutes with Cele and Zuke replacing Sibeko and Dlamini.
During the first 10 minutes of the second-half,Arrows proved to be more aggressive as they were entering in the box of their opponent continuously and players such as Mutizwa and van Rooi wasted two wonderful chances to extend the score on the 50th and 52nd minute.
Chiefs almost got a second goal on the 70th minute with a shot from range by Miguel and that thundering strike was saved by Maova.
On the 72nd,Mnqithi made a second double substitutes with aim of reinforcing his squad against stubborn visitors,he introduced Kobedi replaced Gumbi and Mthanti replaced van Rooi.
On the 78th minute,Mutizwa extended the lead for Arrows to make score 2-1 after receiving a beautiful cross from Mthanti who was introduced as a substitute in less than six minutes ago.
Arrows succeeded to defend their lead till the end and in the last 15 minutes of that match Chiefs came out gun-blazing seeking an equaliser but the home team was equal to their task and managed to intercept dangerous balls which were sent by visitors.
