Orlando Pirates had suffered its first loss of the season when was facing Stellenbosch FC in a Betway Premiership match at Orlando Stadium,Johannesburg on Sunday afternoon.

Buccaneers was humiliated 0-1 in a full-packed stadium in front of their supporters by Stellies which showed no respect for the host.

The visitors' lonely goal was scored on the 33rd minute by Devin Titus in a close range and that left Sipho Chaine confused and clueless.

After scoring the first goal,the visitors did not stop there and continued to attack non-stop as they were seeking a second goal before the half-time but their attempts all failed.

Buccaneers failed to equalise before the half-time after they were awarded an indirect free-kick in the box and the was shot over the bar.

During the second-half,the home team missed a golden opportunity to score on the 65th minute when Kabelo Dlamini's ball hit the crossbar.

Stellies coach Barker made dozens of substitutes on the 70th and 79th minute as he introduced five players to strengthen his defence and midfield which were showing signs of fatigue.

On the 87th minute,Sipho Chaine saved a dangerous ball in a tight angle which was kicked by Khomotjo Lekoloane to keep his team in the game.

On the 90th minute,Bucs defender Nkosinathi Sibisi failed to score an equaliser after receiving a beautiful ball in the box unmarked and he just fired straight to Sage Stephens in a close range.

Titus' early goal helped his club to bagged all three points after 90 minutes in a match that was difficult for the visitors.

Stellies player Omega Mdaka was picked as the Man of the Match for the day after showing a strong character for the entire 90 minutes and contributed much to his club victory.

Pirates has been unseated as log leaders due to goal difference as they are sitting on 21 points with Mamelodi Sundowns after 8 matches played so far in the league.

Stellies is sitting on third place with 15 points in eight matches and in this league campaign has lost only one match so far.

Betway Premiership results for the weekend

On Friday,SuperSport United was beaten 0-1 by Marumo Gallants with a goal scored by Manaka in a penalty spot in the first-half at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.

On Saturday,five league matches were played,AmaZulu FC defeated Richards Bay 1-3 at King Zwelithini Stadium in a KwaZulu-Natal derby,and Kaizer Chiefs drew 2-2 with Royal AM at Peter Mokaba Stadium,Mamelodi Sundowns crushed Sekhukhune 3-0 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium and Chippa United thrashed Magesi FC 2-0 at Buffalo City Municipality Stadium.

On Sunday,two another matches played as Lamontville Golden Arrows bruised Cape Town City 3-2 at Mpumalanga Stadium and Polokwane City drew 1-1 with TS Galaxy at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
