The police in the province of Limpopo has launched manhunt for three male suspects which raped a 32-year-old woman at Bolobedu South in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the police at Tzaneen have launched a manhunt for three suspects who allegedly gang raped a 32-year-old woman.At about 04:00,on Saturday,02 August 2025,three counts of rape were opened at Tzaneen police following a rape of a 32-year-old female victim at Motupa Village,Bolobedu South.
He confirmed that the incident was reported at Tzaneen police and an intensified manhunt of the unknown suspects is underway.
He revealed that the victim was on her way home when she met with perpetrators which attacked before raping her.
"It is reported that, a 32-year-old victim residing at Mareroni Village was walking home when she met three unknown male suspects.
The suspects suddenly assaulted the victim and repeatedly raped her until she became unconscious,"added Colonel Ledwaba.
According to Colonel Ledwaba,at about 06:00,the following morning she woke up and found herself being surrounded by unknown citizens and was half naked.
He stated that police request anyone with information that might lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact the Investigating Officer Lieutenant Colonel Mahlane on 082 429 2625 or crime stop number 08600 10111 or nearest police station or MySAPSApp.
He also emphasised that police investigations are continuing.
In a separate incident,the police reported that a 25-year-old male suspect is due to appear before Tshitale Magistrate Court on Monday,04 August 2025 in relation to a rape of a 20-year-old female victim at Mundzedzi village under Bandelierkop policing area on Saturday,02 August 2025 at about 19:00.
The police revealed that the victim visited the suspect in his place and upon her arrival he forced himself to her and had sex without her consent.
The victim was allegedly asked by the suspect to come to his parental residence and she then went to the premise.Upon arrival,she entered the house and found the suspect.
"A 25-year-old male suspect locked the door and started touching the victim who told him not to do so.He then demanded to have sex with her but she refused.
Unexpectedly,the suspect forcefully undressed and raped the 20-year-old victim.Following the ordeal,the suspect opened the door and instructed her to go home,"said Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba.
The victim went home and informed the family about the incident and reported the matter on the police,and the pursuit for the suspect was launched and was arrested on the same day.
"She left and informed her family about the rape incident that was immediately reported at the local police station.
An immediate manhunt of the known suspect was launched and subsequently resulted in his apprehension while at Mundzedzi village on Saturday 02 August 2025.Police investigations are continuing,"concluded Brigadier Mashaba.
