Ugandan opposition leader and musician Bobi Wine shot by police

Ugandan opposition leader and musician Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi popular known by his stage name Bobi Wine was shot in the leg by police and was admitted to a medical facility on Tuesday.

It is reported that the leader of National Unity Platform was coming from Bulindo,Wakiso District in Kira Municipality when his convoy was blocked by police and military.

"This evening,as our President Bobi Wine returned from Bulindo in Kira Municipality where he had gone to check on one of our lawyers,Musisi George,the police and military under the command of one Twesigye surrounded our vehicles and started firing live bullets,teargas cannisters and other projectiles.In the process,our President #Bobi Wine who was clearly targeted was shot in the leg.He is currently being attended to by a team of medical doctors.

This is yet another attempt on the life of our President by the Museveni regime,"said on Facebook Page of Bobi Wine.

Bobi Wine's life has been at stake since he joined politics few years ago and his popularity has been seen as threat by regime of Museveni who ruled Uganda in an iron fist for more than three decades.

Bobi Wine is loved and respected by all Ugandans who are hungry and ready for change in their lifetime because under Yoweri Museveni leadership Uganda has became dictatorial state.

Uganda has a bad track of record of mistreating opposition leaders and supporters across Uganda and all state organs in that Eastern Africa country are serving one man which Yoweri Museveni.

Under Museveni,Ugandan prisons are used as a weapon to silence his critics and thousands of young people are languishing behind the bars without trial for supporting opposition parties such as NUP and many others.

Bobi Wine is one of the new breed of politicians which loves to equip themselves through education,last month he graduated with a Bachelor of Law Degree from Cavendish University and he also possessed other qualifications.
