The Stellenbosch FC winger Devin Titus (24) has signed a new long-term contract with the club, securing his future in the Cape Winelands.
This move comes after weeks of speculation surrounding his future, with interest from various clubs, including Egyptian side Al Masry and South African giants Orlando Pirates.
Titus, who has been instrumental in Stellenbosch's success, including their historic Carling Knockout triumph in 2023, expressed his gratitude to the club for giving him an opportunity to follow his dream of becoming a professional footballer.
“Stellenbosch FC is the Club that gave me an opportunity to follow my dream of becoming a professional footballer, so I'm very happy to have signed a new contract here,” Titus said.
“I'm incredibly grateful to the Club and all the coaches, staff, and players who have given me this platform to showcase my talent, and hopefully, there is even more to come in the next few years.”
The new deal is believed to be a three-year commitment, ensuring Titus will remain at the club until 2029. The signing is a significant boost for Stellenbosch FC as they look to rebuild their squad under new coach Gavin Hunt. Titus has made 152 appearances for the club, scoring 33 goals in all competitions.
Titus' performances have also earned him recognition on the national stage, breaking into the Bafana Bafana setup. His contributions will be crucial for Stellenbosch FC as they aim to move away from the relegation zone in the Betway Premiership.
Titus is the product of Stellenbosch FC's development structures, made his professional debut against Black Leopards in 2021 at the age of 19, and has since become the Club's third-most-capped player of all time.
