The police arrested four suspects at Katlehong while were busy stripping a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado which was reported stolen from car dealership in Woodmead.

Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed that collaborative efforts between the police and security companies continue to yield positive results,this after the team arrested four suspects for theft of motor vehicle on 28 October 2025 at Katlehong.

She revealed the suspects were found with signal jamming devices,false registration number plates,multiple tools and cellphones.

“The suspects who had reportedly stolen a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado from a car dealership in Woodmead were traced and arrested at Katlehong,where they were found busy stripping the stolen vehicle.The team consisting of Gauteng Highway Patrol,tracking team,and security companies seized the vehicle,signal jamming devices,false registration number plates,multiple tools and various cellphones for further investigations,”said Colonel Nevhuhulwi.

All four arrested suspects are expected to appear before court soon,she concluded.

Zimbabwean national was arrested in possession of illegal medicine

The 42-year-old man from Zimbabwe was arrested by members of Operation Shanela II after he was found with large quantities of medicine hidden under the bed in Khayelitsha,Western Cape.

Constable Ndakhe Gwala said on Wednesday,29 October 2025,members of Operation Shanela II received intelligence of suspected illegal activity taking place at an address in Ilitha Park,Khayelitsha.The members found a 42-year-old Zimbabwean male in the house.And during the search,they found large quantities of medicine hidden under the bed.The suspect admitted that he sells the medicine to his fellow countrymen.He was then arrested for Contravention of Medicine and related substances Act 101 of 1995.The suspect is detained at Harare SAPS,and once charged,he will appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrate's Court.

In a separate incident,the police arrested two suspects after they were found with an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

“Futhermore,the members arrested two males,aged 20 and 22,in Mitchell's Plain for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.The suspects were stopped during a stop and search operation.They had a 9mm pistol with 15 rounds of ammunition in their possession.Both suspects will appear in the Mitchell's Plain Magistrate's Court,once charged,”concluded Constable Gwala.
