The police in KwaZulu-Natal are on the heels of suspects which killed two people and injured seven others during shooting incident in Wentworth on Friday morning.
Colonel Robert Netshiunda,SAPS Provincial spokesperson confirmed that police in KwaZulu-Natal have launched a manhunt for at least two suspects who shot and killed two people and injured seven others during a shooting incident which happened on Major Calvert Street in Wentworth on Friday morning.
Netshiunda said reports indicate that an unconfirmed number of people were seated outside a flat when a grey Mazda 3 vehicle approached them. Two men got out of the same vehicle and fired shots towards the people who were seated.
Netshiunda revealed that the suspects continued to shoot the victims even when were running away and the motive for the shooting is unknown.
"The victims ran into different direction, but the assailants reportedly ran after them as they continued shooting. Two people were shot and killed, whilst seven more victims were taken to hospital with various degrees of gunshot injuries. A dog was also shot and killed during the incident. The victims' ages range between 15 and 22 years old.
The motive of the killing is unknown, however gang and drug-related turf wars cannot be ruled out," concluded Netshiunda.
