Police arrested two suspects for killing a teacher in Ntuzuma

Police in KwaZulu-Natal arrested two suspects linked to the murder of a female teacher inside the school premises three months ago at Richmond Farm in Ntuzuma.

The statement said police detectives attached to the Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes unit have arrested two suspects who have been positively linked with the murder of a 46-year-old teacher who was shot and killed inside Phikiswayo Primary School at Richmond Farm in Ntuzuma on the morning of 29 July 2024.

The police revealed that the investigation has succeeded to uncover the main reason that led to the assassination of that teacher.

According to statement,on that,a man entered the school premises and requested to see the woman.The suspect went straight to the victim and shot her multiple times and fled the scene.She was declared dead at the scene and after police established she could have been assassinated because she was a witness on a matter concerning an inmate at the Westville prison,the matter was handed over to the Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit.

Police maintained that the inmate was the mastermind behind the assassination and the firearm that was used to commit the crime was found during an arrest.

The statement added that police has thus far managed to connect the inmate as the mastermind for the murder,and two other people;the actual shooter and the one who played the role of a spotter,were arrested on Thursday,24 October 2024.Investigations continued and on Friday,25 October 2024,a firearm believed to have been used to kill the teacher was found at the residential premises of the suspected trigger puller.The jacket which he was wearing during the commission of the crime was also found.Preliminary investigations have revealed that the firearm was robbed from its licensed owner during a robbery at Sherwood in Sydenham in April 2023.

Police concluded that the suspects,aged 36 and 41 years old,will appear in the Ntuzuma Magistrate's Court on Monday,28 October 2024 on charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.The already incarcerated suspect will also be charged accordingly and will appear before court in due course.

Police launched manhunt for suspect/s killed an elderly woman

In separate incident,police in Eastern Cape has launched a search for suspect/s involved in a murder of an 85-year-old woman at Nomzamo Garage,Main Road in Kieskamahoek.

Police said according to the information,it is alleged that the domestic worker left the deceased on Friday 25 October 2024 and when she arrived on Saturday 26 October 2024 at about 08:00,she found her body in her bedroom.She called for help from the neighbours,and they alerted the police.Preliminary investigation was done by police with no success of apprehending the suspect/s.

Police has confirmed that a case of murder,rape and house robbery has been opened for investigation.
