Democratic Alliance is holding African National Congress in ransom in their Government of National Unity coalition and now is demanding eleven government departments to be occupied by its own members including deputy ministers.

The Democratic Alliance's letter of demands has been leaked to the media and in that letter it appeared that was officially written by the one and only Hellen Zille and that letter was meant for ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula.

In that letter, the Democratic Alliance's Chairperson of Federal Council,Hellen Zille has made it clear that her party wants the Deputy President post and eleven departments.

These are departments that DA wants to run alone as follow:

Department of Mineral Resources and Energy
Department of Transport(with Transnet reallocated to that portfolio)
    Department of Trade,Industry and Competition
Department of Public Works and Infrastructure
Department of Higher Education,Science and Innovation
Department of Public Service and Administration
Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs
    Department of Justice
    Department of Home Affairs
Department of International Relations and Cooperation
Department of Communication and Digital Technologies

Above all the Democratic Alliance wants the position of the Deputy Minister of Finance to be filled by its own member and these kind of demands are very provocative and unattainable.

Zille emphasised that her party wants all the Director Generals of the departments mentioned above to be interviewed by panels consisting Democratic Alliance ministers and then after that will be submitted to the President for approval.

Zille maintained that DA wants all the contracts of the DGs to be reviewed because is convinced that most of those incumbents are there through ANC's Cadre Deployment policy and their presence would make things difficult for her party ministers to conduct their duties and responsibilities.

She pointed out that her party wants all tenders that were issued since the promulgation of the election date to be reviewed.

She also warned the ANC that if their participation in the national level is not taken serious and that might affect their participation in KwaZulu-Natal.

"We would like to reiterate once again that we remain fully committed to participating in governments in we would be able to effect positive change for the people of South Africa. Our country faces a unique opportunity now to implement programmes that would boost job creation, alleviate poverty, provide security, education, healthcare and social support our people so desperately need.We stand ready to deliver on these imperatives with you and other signatories to the Statement of Intent,"concludes Zille.

The chances of GNU to collapse before its inception are very high because of too much demands presented by Democratic Alliance are putting the ANC in a difficult position.

It will be impossible for the ANC to give away departments such as Justice,International Relations and Cooperation because is not a secret that DA is thirsty for the blood of corrupt ANC politicians who ransacked the public purse over the years.

And ANC will never allow the DA to be responsible for International Relations and Cooperation because DA is supporting pro-Western policies and that would jeopardise South Africa's chances to pursue countries such as Israel which are committing genocide in Gaza, lastly DA does not support BRICS bloc.

Looking on DA's demands,it is clear that they are calling the shots in that marriage of convenience and also they do not care about other members of the GNU as long as their members occupy important roles in government to influence the direction of that government.

Right now,the GNU has welcomed 10 political parties and that alone raises eyebrows about the DA's greedy because even these parties expect to occupy some government departments and portfolio committees.
