The South African embattled political party African National Congress(ANC) has managed to settle over R1OO million debt that owed to Ezulwini Investments.
On Friday, the African National Congress has issued a one line statement to confirm that it has settled the debt out of court.
The ruling party has been struggling for years to pay the debt for the company which helped them to provide posters and other promotional stuff for the 2019 elections.
The Newcastle-based printing and marketing company approached courts in attempts to force the ruling party to pay all money that owed them.
The ANC tried so hard to stop Ezulwini Investments not to attach its assets and it approached the Gauteng High Court and Supreme Court of Appeal but lost.
Ezulwini Investments was granted a court order to go-ahead with the confiscation of all ANC assets to repay its debt.
The Sheriff of the court went to Luthuli House which is headquarters of the ANC but upon his arrival earlier this month was denied access to the building by security guards which were following instructions that were given by the leadership of the party.
Who helped ANC
It is not a secret that the African National Congress has financial problems which has been haunting them for years since Cyril Ramaphosa took over from Jacob Zuma back in late 2018.
The party has been struggling even to pay the salaries of its staff and that happened for several months.
Now,it is evident that ANC is rescued by some of its friends who have been benefiting for years on its alleged involvement on awarding of government tenders.
ANC reactions to the arrival of MK Party
Few days ago, former President of ANC,Jacob Gedleyihlekisa Zuma has shock all the party's structures across the country when he announced that he is going to vote a newly-registered political party called uMkhonto Wesizwe Party aka MK Party.
Different ANC leaders has spoken out against Zuma's decision to hold a press conference where he urged all his followers to dump the party and vote for MK Party.
Jacob Zuma made it clear that he will continue to be a member of the ANC but will not support and campaign for the ANC of Ramaphosa in next year general elections campaigns.
ANC must be prepared to lose more voters and members as it was reported that more than three millions South Africans who visited the website of the MK Party and that led to its website to experience technical glitches due to high volume of new visitors who have been registering as a new members of the new party.
ANC popularity decline
The ANC supports amongst the youth of South Africa has been declining for years and that was witnessed during the latest national elections in 2019 and 2021 during local government elections where it lost dozens of municipalities across the country.
Most of South Africans are tired of empty promises which had been made by the ruling party for the past two decades,ANC promised people opportunities which never existed all these years since 1994.
