Kaizer Chiefs crushed Marumo Gallants 1-2 in a league match

Kaizer Chiefs has started the new season in a positive mood after defeating Marumo Gallants 1-2 during their first match for Betway Premiership at Toyota Stadium,Free State on Saturday afternoon.
Amakhosi began a 2024/25 season with away match as they traveled to Bloemfontein to encounter Bahlabane ba Ntwa which has returned to the South African topflight this season.
The home team started that match in a fast pace and that worked efficiently to destabilise the defence of the visiting team because the host succeeded to score the first goal of the match on the 8th minute which was netted by Sithole.
Marumo Gallants' goal triggered wrath of Kaizer Chiefs because visitors responded on the 17th minute with a beautiful goal scored by Mduduzi Shabalala to leveled score 1-1.
The first 45 minutes ended with a draw and during second half both teams were attacking non-stop but goals were scarce.
Kaizer Chiefs break the deadlock and took a lead on the 79th minutes with a goal scored by Mfundo Vilakazi and that goal guaranteed three points for visitors.
After that 1-2 victory Kaizer Chiefs has found itself sitting on top of the Betway Premiership log table with three points and followed by Polokwane City in second position with three points too after beating AmaZulu FC 2-1.
Kaizer Chiefs defender Bradley Cross was picked as the Man of the Match in his first match wearing black and gold colours.
The yesterday's victory for Amakhosi was enough for Nasredine Nabi to convince the supporters that the management of the club made a right choice to lured him to South Africa.
In the next league match Nabi's boys will face AmaZulu FC away from home and that match will take place at Moses Mabhida Stadium on 25 September 2024.
