Mamelodi Sundowns crushed Kaizer Chiefs out of MTN8 Cup

Mamelodi Sundowns has advanced to the MTN8 Cup final after battering Kaizer Chiefs by 2-1 in a second-leg of MTN semifinals at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Sundowns proceeded to the MTN8 Cup final after winning with an aggregate score of 3-2 because in the first-leg in an away match drew by 1-1.
The Downs got an early goal of the game when Peter Shalulile received an unexpected gift from the mistake made Kaizer Chiefs' goalkeeper Brandon Peterson in less than 60 seconds of the match when he failed to kick the ball away from their half.
But the Kaizer Chiefs kept on pushing hard after conceding that silly goal up until they got an equaliser on the 34th minutes which was scored by Ashley Du Preez on the penalty spot.
Shalulile came back before the end of first half to score his second goal of the match during the injury time and that gave his side a goal advantage when they went to half-time break.
On the second half,both clubs came back with the same attitude of wanting to go to the MTN8 Cup final,they played a very counteroffensive football for the 45 minutes.
Downs enjoyed and contained a good ball possession especially in the second half as the game ended with Sundowns stood on 59% while Kaizer Chiefs stood on 41%.
Despite being kicked out of the MTN8 Cup race but the Kaizer Chiefs had more shots on target than its opponent,the Glamour Boys had 6 shots on target while Ka Bo Yellow had 4.
There were 32 fouls were recorded for the entire match as it evident that Sundowns was feeling the wrath of Kaizer Chiefs which was fighting so hard to get an equaliser in the second half and the home team committed 20 fouls while its opponent committed only 12 fouls.
Right now,Downs is waiting any team that would win tomorrow in a fierce match between Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch ,the MTN8 Cup final is expected to be play next month.
Mamelodi Downs went to that match carrying their heads high because midweek they defeated Orlando Pirates in a DStv Premiership match and boosted their confidence aginst Kaizer Chiefs.
