Mamelodi Sundowns has advance to the quarterfinals of the Nedbank Cup after beating Maritzburg United 2-0 at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday night.

Masandawana struggled to score in the first 45 minutes of the match,and tables turned in the last 15 minutes of the second half when the host break the deadlock.

The home team first goal was scored in the 74th minute by Thembinkosi Lorch and that goal gave a bit of relief for the DStv Premiership champions.

Lorch scored the second goal for his team in the 90+5 minute to seal the deal and to book their ticket to the next round of the competition.

Last night,Lorch played a very prolific role for his new team and he received his first Man of the Match award in Mamelodi Sundowns colours.

TS Galaxy has secured their spot in the next round of the Nedbank Cup after crushing the Motsepe League side D'General FC 0-3 at Toyota Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Rockets' first goal was scored by Samir Nurkovic in the 33rd minute and their second goal was netted by Sphiwe Mahlangu in the 42nd minutes to extend the lead before the end of first-half.

The third goal for the visitors was scored by Mlungisi Zwane in the 50th minute in his debut for the club and that goal was enough for his side to proceed to the quarterfinals.

The Rockets' player Orebotse Mongae was picked as a Man of the Match after he displayed an outstanding performance in that game.

Nedbank Cup:Orlando Pirates grilled Hungry Lions

Orlando Pirates has proceeded to the quarterfinals of the Nedbank Cup after humiliating Hungry Lions 4-0 at Orlando Stadium on Saturday night.

The first goal of the match was an own goal which was scored by visitors' player Monaheng in the 20th minute of the first half.

The second goal for Orlando Pirates was scored by Mabasa in the 66th minute,and the third goal was scored by Monnapule Saleng in the 72nd minute,and the last goal for the night was scored by Mabasa in the 90+5 minute and that was his brace for the night.

Saleng was picked as the Man of the Match after his was sterling performance during the game to ensure his team advance to the next stage.
